ON THE ROAD TO ROO-DEMPTION
the dream start,” Robinson said about the record 67-3 loss they suffered against New Zealand in Auckland last October.
“But I guess it made you a lot hungrier to try to do better and try your best.
“You’re not just out there playing muck-around park footy. Playing for your country is a bit different.”
And that’s all the motivation the Wallaroos need in this World Cup year, Robinson says.
They won’t dwell on that loss – which they recovered quickly from, going down in the second Test 27-3 – and once the team is selected after this weekend’s national championships on the Gold Coast, all thoughts will be on the tour of New Zealand then August’s World Cup.
Eight teams are contesting the national championships, to be played at the Runaway Bay Sports Super Centre starting tomorrow.
Robinson’s Sydney side will start favourites after winning the past two titles.
The winner of each pool will play the final on Sunday at 12.15pm.
