Club great applauds stance on Kevin Proc­tor and urges fallen Kiwi star to earn way back

THE Gold Coast Ti­tans came down hard on Kevin Proc­tor yes­ter­day over his Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Round drug scandal, in­clud­ing a four­match ban and a $20,000 fine as part of his sanc­tions.

For­mer Ti­tans cap­tain and NSW Ori­gin star Luke Bai­ley said the mea­sures were ap­pro­pri­ate as club of­fi­cials were de­ter­mined to ram home the mes­sage that this sort of be­hav­iour will not be tol­er­ated.

Bai­ley said the hard work now be­gins for Proc­tor as he looks to re­gain trust from his team­mates and the wider foot­ball com­mu­nity.

“He has got his work cut out for him, he has got to win back sup­port,” Bai­ley told the

Proc­tor yes­ter­day re­joined his team­mates at train­ing for the first time since the in­ci­dent, in which he and fel­low New Zealand star Jesse Bromwich were al­legedly seen on CCTV footage out­side a night­club snort­ing cocaine.
