Club great applauds stance on Kevin Proctor and urges fallen Kiwi star to earn way back
THE Gold Coast Titans came down hard on Kevin Proctor yesterday over his Representative Round drug scandal, including a fourmatch ban and a $20,000 fine as part of his sanctions.
Former Titans captain and NSW Origin star Luke Bailey said the measures were appropriate as club officials were determined to ram home the message that this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.
Bailey said the hard work now begins for Proctor as he looks to regain trust from his teammates and the wider football community.
“He has got his work cut out for him, he has got to win back support,” Bailey told the
Proctor yesterday rejoined his teammates at training for the first time since the incident, in which he and fellow New Zealand star Jesse Bromwich were allegedly seen on CCTV footage outside a nightclub snorting cocaine.
