Street row for court
A MAN accused of assaulting his neighbour following a longrunning dispute at Parkwood has been committed to stand trial.
Elliot Daniel Boyce yesterday faced a committal hearing in the Southport Magistrates Court after being charged with grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm in June last year.
The charges came after bad blood between Boyce and the people living at a neighbouring apartment on Oak St allegedly came to a head.
Police allege Boyce was holding a wrench and had a knife during the incident and the man was injured after being pushed into a glass window.
However, during yesterday’s committal hearing, the court heard witnesses to the fight did not see Boyce with a knife. Boyce’s legal team are expected to argue he dropped the wrench before the altercation and the injuries to the other man were caused when he punched a glass window after the fight.
Boyce has been committed to stand trial in the Southport District Court at a date yet to be determined.
