P0 Box 1, Southport 4215 editorial@goldcoast.com.au facebook.com/goldcoastbulletin ACCORDING to honest Bill Shorten, Australia has so many millionaires and billionaires that Forbes’ yearly list of the world’s richest people must be totally wrong.

His take on his constant rich versus poor political spin has gone to such a height that he now considers Australians on incomes of $87,000 or $180,000 as from the high end of town and millionaires.

How dare these “millionaires” get a tax cut on incomes they work hard for. After all, they should work their backsides off so that he can spend it on policies and the poor disadvantaged who help the “rich” earn that income by putting their hands out for never-ending welfare and handouts.

The temporary deficit levy of 2 per cent that Mr Shorten so vehemently opposed and accused Mr Abbott of breaking his promise on and due to end in June this year, honest Bill Shorten (“trust me, I am Bill Shorten”) now wants to keep permanently to slug the millionaire Australians who earn more than $180,000 per year.

Mr Shorten’s desire to join the top end of town has finally been achieved by his redefinition of a millionaire.

Congratulations Bill Shorten on your generous MP salary and super perks, you can now claim to be in the same class as your “rich” millionaire mate, Malcolm Turnbull.

Honest Bill better get back on working out more political spin and novel ways to define a billionaire.

RAY Stevens has raised a very relevant fact which I believe is on the mind of every Gold Coaster; why wasn’t Penny Toland investigated?

This sounds more like a coverup with the fact that she did not declare union donations. She has admitted she is a member of the ALP and accepted donations from an ALP support group and yet ran as an independent.

How can we be certain other donations handed to were declared?

that her IF we are going to have a survey on the light rail, Spit casino and CST let’s have a real one, or better than that, three, as they are completely different issues.

By real I mean with all the correct information provided, not like what is being put forward now, such as all the photos taken north of Sea World which has nothing to do with or is anywhere near the three projects mentioned above.

WONDER of wonders, little Sir Echo, the Oz has been asked for more military assets in Afghanistan by the world’s happy-to-be “policeman”, the US.

And wonder of wonders, naturally the Government is frothing at the mouth, happy to commit more assets.

Isn’t it about time we considered looking at becoming the 51st state of the union?

Then we wouldn’t have to go through the predictable charade we go through each time we are asked to step into the quicksand the US has got itself into.
