It showed on Saturday night when the Titans seemed set to record another courageous loss with the Storm up eight points inside the final 10 minutes.

Despite again suffering the injury curse that has dogged them all season and with Jarryd Hayne (leg nerve damage), Ryan Simpkins (knee ligaments) and Dan Sarginson (dislocated shoulder) finishing the game on the bench, the Titans scored two tries in the final six minutes.

McQueen, who scored a try in his 150th game on Saturday night, said injuries had become so common this season, they had almost helped the Titans on Saturday, with no one flinching at the thought of finishing over the top of the Storm with just one fit player on the bench.

“Probably the fact that we’re used to it is probably not a bad thing,” he said.

“We still have to go out there and play footy and as long as we’ve got 13 players out on the field, we can do the job.”
