Mr Dib’s younger brother, Billel ‘ Babyface’ Dib, is ranked No 6 on the WBO super featherweight division.

The brothers grew up at Chevron Island after their parents emigrated from Lebanon but their father didn’t want either of them to get in the ring.

“We used to say we wanted to fight but my dad would never let us. He said it was too dangerous, he wanted us to build a future and go to university.

“About 17 years old I snuck out of home and started training without my dad knowing at the Broadbeach PCYC.

Mr Dib has now had 20 fights and 20 wins, trained in Miami and hopes to win a national title next.

“Clients call me from prison and they’ve seen me fight on Foxtel or something and they tell everyone in (the jail) ‘That’s my lawyer’ or they call me up and they say ‘I saw you fight’,” he said.

“Because often clients have heard of me or my brother when they come to see me for legal advice, they have these expectations but what I hear from most people is that they like how at our firm we’re down to earth.”
