Hack attack hits Japan

-

JAPAN has fallen victim to the global “ransomware” cyber-attack that has created chaos in 150 countries, with thousands of computers hit at 600 locations.

Nissan Motor Co. confirmed on Monday that some units had been targeted, but said there was no major impact on its business.

Hitachi spokeswoman Yuko Tainiuchi said emails were slow or were not getting delivered, and files could not be opened.

The company believes that the problems are related to the ransomware attack, although no ransom is being demanded.

She said the company was installing software to fix the problems.
