Aussie finally on podium

terry.wilson@news.com.au FORMULA ONE THE Golden South Jaguars have a job ahead to make the Queensland State Netball League finals after five losses and only two wins from their opening seven matches.

Yet the Jags still have a rough chance of making the top in the six-team competitio­n after beating Brisbane South Wildcats on Saturday night. AUSTRALIAN Daniel Ricciardo was happy to claim his first podium finish of the season when third behind winner Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel in the Spanish Grand Prix.

Mercedes driver Hamilton cut Ferrari rival Vettel’s overall lead in the championsh­ip to six points. He won by 3.4 seconds from the German.

Ricciardo was the only other driver not lapped as he finished 75.8 seconds behind the winner.

He is fifth in the driver standings on 37 points behind Vettel on 104.
