Terrorist not an ISIS member

-

THE fatal Sydney Lindt siege was an act of terror, but the official inquest report into the tragedy will express doubts that murderer Man Haron Monis was directly acting in the name of ISIS.

The long-awaited report into the Martin Place attack, which shut down parts of Sydney’s CBD for 17 hours and led to the death of two people, as well as gunman Monis, will be released by NSW Coroner Michael Barnes next Wednesday.

The 600-page report is believed to criticise Commonwealth agencies for not sharing pertinent information with NSW police about the crazed killer. However, it is understood that Mr Barnes will not go as far as to find that if processes and agencies worked better together, it would have prevented the tragedy.

Highly placed sources have revealed the report will conclude that Monis’s crime was an act of terror, a position some have questioned, given concerns about his mental instability. However, it is believed the findings will not directly link his actions to ISIS jihadists.
