Robbery charges laid

BEING a mum is the toughest and most rewarding job in the world.

And Karli McGunigle hopes the role has prepared her for an online reality TV show competition.

The Upper Coomera 23-year-old will be part of YouTube series I Am Multiverse, a mashup of Survivor, Next Top Model and The Apprentice.

Contestants need to prove they are “multi-talented, multiskilled, multifaceted” and they will be judged on “achievement beyond beauty”.

Ms McGunigle will represent southeast Queenaland in the I Am Multiverse regional finals in June. The winner will then go to South America for a weeklong shoot, featuring a series of challenges

“It is a really interesting competition,” said the mother of two children, aged two and one.

“The whole journey is going to be on TV. I think I will learn a lot about myself through the experience.”

Ms McGunigle’s modelling career only started in November 2016 when she went in a national beauty competition.

As a photographer Ms McGunigle wasn’t used to being on the other side of the camera, but after encouragement from her husband she took the plunge.

“From a young age, I have loved the beauty industry and now at 23, I’m moving forward within the modelling industry not only for myself, but to help inspire other young women to love the skin you’re in, no matter your size, shape or height.” A GROUP of teens who allegedly bashed and robbed two men in Southport on Monday night faced court yesterday after police laid charges.

Just after 9pm on Monday police say three teens approached two men sitting at a table outside a Nerang Street restaurant.

The 22-year-old man was allegedly threatened with a knife and one of the victims was attacked with a glass before the phone was stolen.

The 27-year-old was allegedly punched and kicked and the teens are said to have taken a wallet and a tablet computer.

One of the victims required hospital treatment for cuts to his head. Police charged a 14year old Surfers Paradise boy, a 15-year-old from Mermaid Waters and two 16-year-old with various offences.
