Feathers fly over noisy chook app

-

A NOISY couple who ruffled neighbours’ feathers playing the Chicken Scream game app found themselves cooped up behind bars for the night.

Gladstone Magistrate Court yesterday heard that Luke Anthony Woods and his girlfriend were playing the phone app – which requires players to make loud chicken sounds – at their home on April 16 when other residents called police, believing it was a domestic dispute.

When officers arrived on scene the pair became argumentative with police, causing Woods’ partner to be detained.

Defence lawyer Axel Beard said that his client became upset when he saw three police officers restrain his girlfriend.

Both were arrested that night and taken to the watchhouse. When Woods was released the next morning, he began to pester staff.

Woods, 33, yesterday pleaded guilty to obstructing police and contravening direct order from police. He was convicted and fined a total $700.
