Plenty of interest in Ormeau blocks

-

THE State Government is looking to offload two prime pieces of land in Ormeau at auction next week.

The 7924sq m and 6423sq m blocks are located at 214 and 224 Lahrs Rd within the Ormeau industrial precinct.

The blocks are zoned for low impact industry and have frontage to Lahrs Rd and Blanck St.

Colliers International Gold Coast agent James Crawford, who is marketing the blocks with colleague Darrell Irwin, said the land, acquired by the Department of Transport and Main Roads for construction of the M1 Motorway, was now surplus to requirements.

He said the property had attracted strong interest from prospective buyers.

“That has come particularly from Gold Coast and Brisbane industrial developers,” he said.

The Ormeau industrial area has seen a rise in building activity recently.

Zupp Property Group recently unveiled three buildings at 270 Lahrs Rd following a $6 million refurbishment. The vacant blocks will be auctioned on-site at 11am on May 23.
