in Bali Balinese boyfriend Ben Panangian or brother Michael Corby accompanied her.

One woman working at a warung, a small restaurant on the beach, said Corby was nice, spoke Indonesian and had a lovely voice.

“She was a kind person,” Wayan Wartini said. “She was friendly to me and she spoke Indonesian well.

“I liked the sound of her voice, it was like a child’s, it was soft.”

Ms Wartini also said Corby made conversation with the locals and talked about her dog and her love for home cooking.

Nyoman Mona, who sells bracelets and souvenirs, said she hoped Corby would return as a tourist after her release from parole on May 27.

Corby now feels besieged by the media and tensions are running high with complaints to authorities about media intrusion.
