Cop car runs over rider

AN Adelaide teenager remains in hospital with a broken leg and cracked pelvis after a police car crashed into his motorbike during a routine traffic stop.

A friend of the injured 17year-old said they were riding together on Sunday night when a patrol officer pulled them over and appeared to accidentally press the accelerator in his car.

“The cop car just went straight over the top of him, just full acceleration, taking him on to the curb,” Brodie Mewett-Sweet said.

SA police are investigating the collision.
