Hansen not a wheel quitter

CYCLING A SUSPECTED broken bone in his hand is just a flesh wound for cycling’s ironman Adam Hansen.

The Australian is determined to keep his record Grand Tour completion streak alive despite crashing late in stage 14 in the Giro d’Italia.

Hansen, 36, posted a photo on Twitter of his right hand, with bruising around the wrist. “Nice and blue. Painful but on the bike it’s pretty good,” he wrote.

This is Hansen’s 17th straight Grand Tour event, going back to 2011.
