Kaslar was one of four Gold Coasters at the Lions, along with Nikki Wallace, Jamie Stanton and Selina Goodman.

The 31-year-old was the oldest player on Brisbane’s list last season but said moving into a profession­al environmen­t had actually improved her physical condition as she looks to play in the AFLW for a few more years to come.

“Given that football wasn’t profession­al up until recently for us, we didn’t do a lot of testing on where we sat,” she said.

“Doing all the fitness testing and looking at the GPS stats, I am actually still sitting well within the group.

“I was surprised by that and having the extra profession­alism, recovery and physios and all that, I actually feel better physically because you’re getting better maintenanc­e than I did in previous years.

“Hopefully I’ve got another few years. I’ve still got a lot to learn and I guess through having this profession­al opportunit­y and high level coaching I’m still improving. I don’t think im ready to stop.”
