Show’s over for Muslim activist
CONTROVERSIAL Muslim activist Yassmin Abdel-Magied’s ABC show has been given the chop just a month after she was lambasted for posting disrespectful Facebook comments on Anzac Day.
The ABC last night confirmed it would be axing the program Australia Wide, which Abdel-Magied presented, as part of a restructure to “better match our audience’s needs”.
The ABC denied the show’s axing was connected to the host’s comments on Anzac Day, in which she wrote: “Lest We Forget (Manus, Nauru, Syria, Palestine ...)”.
“Yassmin was aware the program was under review, and we are discussing with her future opportunities at the ABC,” a spokeswoman said.
