FOOTY SHOW FEVER HITS THE COAST

- KRISTY MUIR

THE eyes of the rugby league world are fixed on the Gold and Tweed Coasts.

And with the Queensland Maroons and the New South Wales Blues in camp just 53minutes apart it is only fitting

The Footy Show is in town to cover their preparation.

Today, Blues supporters Erin Molan and Beau Ryan and Queenslanders Paul “Fatty” Vautin and Darryl “The Big Marn” Brohman will head to Kingscliff and Sanctuary Cove to chat with players about next Wednesday’s series opener.

The Gold Coast Titans have three players involved, with Jarryd Hayne and Nathan Peats in the Blues squad and Jarrod Wallace on standby for the Maroons.

“It is great news for them (Titans) to have two players in Origin,” Molan said.

“I think they (Titans) are a cracking side and they have had a great couple of months. Obviously it is not ideal to lose a couple of players but they will come back even better and more confident ... unless the Blues get walloped.”

While Erin is “cautiously optimistic the Blues will win”, Brohman believes Queensland will prevail.

“I am a Queenslander,” he said.

“The panel is divided for who we want to win, half of us are Queenslanders and half of us aren’t.

“Queensland’s got a very good chance (of winning). They have won 10 of the last 11 and hopefully they will win 11 of the last 12.

“They are favourites to win and I am hoping they win.”

The Footy Show will be live at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre tonight.

Tickets are still available via Ticketek. Doors open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 8.30pm.
