just converted from other sports and knows exactly what they’ll be going through.

Despite taking out the 2016 world rugby women’s sevens player of the year award and featuring in Australia’s gold medal triumph at the Rio Olympics, the 22year-old admitted her understanding of rugby and its technicalities remains a work in progress.

“I am still learning parts of the rules and game laws; I feel as though they always change so still trying to conquer that side of it,” she said.

“I have to work super hard on my contact and I am going to have to work hard on that for the rest of my career.

“It just doesn’t come as naturally to me as it does for some so I definitely would understand if the girls are hesitant in that area of the game and hopefully I could help them out in that area.

“It will definitely help for them to see how far we have come from touch and everything ... that it is possible for them to (learn rugby).”

Caslick is excited for the series’ potential to keep driving the sport’s participation boom and said the opportunity for more match play ahead of the Commonwealth Games is a positive.

Those matches will have the bonus of pitting national stars against one another.

“I’d definitely prefer having them in my team than playing against them,” Caslick laughed. “(But) playing against some of the best players in the world, that will help us get better.”

Emilee Cherry’s name is at the top of the list of national teammates she wants to face.

“You will have Emilee Cherry running around for UQ. If you can play against her and play well then you are doing really well,” Caslick said.

“She is leading the way in every aspect of the game at the moment.”
