“It’s a very special match and you get to put on that Maroon jersey and play in front of a home crowd, so there’s no better feeling than that.”

While their Titans teammates will take in the atmosphere, Max King and Tyronne Roberts-Davis missed the NSW side, with both having played too many NRL games this season to be eligible for under-20 side.

It’s a blow for the Blues but a boon for their Titans teammates, who are likely to have a slightly easier night without the classy pair opposite. Brimson is expected to help steer the ship with Melbourne’s Brodie Croft, the heir apparent to Cooper Cronk at the Storm.

“We’ve got Brodie Croft there in the halves, who’s like a Mini Cooper (Cronk), so he’s going to run the show,” Hodges said.

“Obviously AJ (Brimson) who’s the Titans five-eighth, he’s a great kid and Harry (Grant) has come through the Melbourne Storm (system), he’s the hooker in the 20s, and (fullback) Corey Allen, so we’re just going to rely on those four guys to make sure they can look after our shape there.

“And we’ve got some good forwards.”

Titans centre Sami will continue his strong season after taking his game to another level following a preseason with the first grade squad.

“That really benefited my game, there were some things in rugby league I didn’t know about until training with the big boys,” Sami said.

“There’s still some little effort things I need to work on ... but I just want to go out there and impress the top side coaches and hopefully get resigned (by the Titans) and have a good pre-season.”
