Driver ‘five times limit’

AN elderly man was allegedly five times the legal alcohol limit when he crashed into another motorist at Arundel on Saturday night.

An 82-year-old man is believed to have been travelling at 130km when he smashed into the back of a 4WD on Brisbane Rd.

A roadside breath test allegedly returned a reading of .26 - more than five times over the legal limit, a Queensland Police Service spokespers­on said. Investigat­ions are continuing, but the man is expected to be charged with high range drink driving.
