Training jobs boost

MORE than 590 Gold Coasters have found a job after completing the Skilling Queenslanders for Work program.

Minister for Training and Skills Yvette D’Ath said of 1106 locals taking part, two thirds had secured employment.

“What’s more, 181 have gone on to further training or returned to school,” she said.

Ms D’Ath said in less than two years, the state government has put $10 million towards 81 programs in the area.
