Slater no match for Surfers flyer

-

ryan.keen@news.com.au had helped find him accommodation and a building site job and he hoped to stay for at least a year.

Surfers coach Kris Burton said Pavlovski was a great athlete: “He knows what he’s doing.”

Pavlovski has settled quickly into Gold Coast life.

“The Gold Coast is the nicest place I have ever been,” he said.

“When I arrived at the rugby club people were so welcoming, very socialable. They made me feel relaxed and that’s important when you come by yourself.”

He will get a chance to defend his Powerscore top spot at a national final next month – and he hopes to go head to head with Slater .

“I don’t know if he can make it but it will be nice to be against him.”
