‘Uncertain’ evaluation for murder accused
Star-studded benefit gig for bomb victims
ARIANA Grande has announced a star studded show in honour of those who died and were injured in the Manchester bombing at her concert.
The pop star (pictured) released a statement vowing to return to the “incredibly brave city” of Manchester this Sunday to raise funds for the families of the 22 people who were killed and dozens more injured by suicide bomber Salman Abedi.
The ‘One Love’ Manchester show, to take place at the Old Trafford cricket ground, will see the biggest names in music come together including Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Coldplay and Take That.
Grande, 23, posted a heartfelt message on her social media accounts yesterday announcing the concert.
“Music is meant to heal us, to bring us together, to make us happy,” she wrote. “So that is what it will continue to do for us. We will continue to honour the ones we lost, their loved ones, my fans and all affected by this tragedy.” LAWYERS for the accused murderer of slain Logan schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer say a psychiatric report of their client is “ambivalent”.
Rick Thorburn, 56, did not appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court when his case was mentioned yesterday.
The case had previously been adjourned until a psychiatric report was completed.
A lawyer from Legal Aid told the court Guest Lawyers, who represent Thorburn, had found the psychiatric report inconclusive.
“Guest Lawyers have received the report from the psychiatrist but they say that the report is ambivalent,” she said.
She said Guest Lawyers had referred the matter back to Legal Aid to “take carriage of any referral to the Mental Health Court”.
Outside the court, Tiahleigh’s biological mother, Cindy Palmer, said she was “frustrated”.
Police allege Thorburn murdered Tiahleigh (pictured) in 2015 and dumped her body near the Pimpama River.
