Aussie man dies on NZ hunt trip
AN Australian man has plunged to his death on a hunting trip with his son in New Zealand.
The 66-year-old man, whose body was yet to be recovered yesterday, and his son, 33, went hunting in the Fox Glacier Valley on New Zealand’s South Island on Wednesday.
Both men are understood to have been experienced hunters who often went on trips together.
About midday, the pair became separated high in the Westland Ranges and an hour later, the son found his father with head injuries down a nearby ravine. Rescue helicopters were sent out but the father died before he could be winched to safety.
