Robo-shop deliveries
A ROBOT courier service able to deliver groceries in under an hour is being tested by UK supermarket giant Tesco.
The vehicles, capable of carrying up to 10kg in groceries, travel on pavements and have a maximum speed of about 6.5km/h. After successfully transporting a food order to an address in central London, Tesco is planning a wider trial of robot deliveries.
The creators of the robots say they are a more efficient option than cars, vans and bikes and are a more immediate and practical solution than flying drones, which are currently being tested by online superstore Amazon.
