Accused fraudster posed as developer
AN accused serial fraudster who sold first-home buyers and young families kit homes and house and land packages that were never built has been fined after breaching his bail by posing as a developer online.
Matthew Michael Nair, 35, pleaded guilty in Southport Magistrates Court yesterday to breaching a condition of his Supreme Court bail that prohibited him from entering into any property development activity and using social media.
Nair is on bail for almost 50 offences, including fraud and extortion, that he allegedly committed on the Coast and at Beenleigh between 2013 and 2015. The breach involved claiming he was the “creative director” of 888 Development Group on LinkedIn. He was fined $500 and had no conviction recorded for the breaches.
