Jail term for dog’s death
A WOMAN who left her two dogs in a hot car for five hours – resulting in one of the animals dying from heat stroke – has been given a suspended jail sentence.
The dog owner was found guilty of animal cruelty charges after the incident in Adelaide in March last year.
The RSPCA says the woman left the two maltese terriers in her car when she went to visit her daughter in hospital.
The temperature reached 29C outside that day – but was significantly hotter inside the vehicle.
