Supermarket draws interest
A SOUTHPORT shop – home to part of an Asian supermarket – has hit the market.
The property is the first of three strata-titled lots at 19 Nerang St and hosts a 254sq m shop forming half of the Daily Asian Supermarket.
It is being sold by JTB Group, linked to Jan, Tom and Ben Sinclair, who bought the property for $1.1 million in 2009.
The tenancy is on a monthto-month lease and the shop returns $85,800, plus GST, annual rent.
Marketing agent Wayne Devenport, of Ray White Commercial Southport, said the property would suit an investor or owner-occupier.
“The short-term lease makes it easier for someone looking to move in and run a business,” he said.
Mr Devenport said the listing came at a time of heightened interest in property at the eastern end of Nerang St.
Last year he sold lot three at 19 Nerang St for $1.2 million to a group of doctors.
