Charity takes Corby help
Alexandria.utting@news.com.au last night priced at more than $1000.
Mr Whittington – an exAustralian soldier who landed in a Lebanese prison with a 60 Minutes crew after failing to rescue two Australian children in 2016 – said he had no issues accepting the donation.
He did not believe that the association to a convicted drug smuggler would have any negative impact on the cause. “What’s happened in the past is the past,” he said.
“Everyone deserves a second chance ... whether she’s done it or not ... it’s just like any other member of the public donating to the cause.
“We see it as amazing donation. Thank you Schapelle. Even if it makes $10 at least it will go to the kids.”
Mr Whittington said he did not know Corby but they had a mutual connection in celebrity security guard John McLeod, who arranged Corby’s return to Australia.
Mr Whittington said Project Rescue Children Australia would expose paedophiles.
“We join these chat groups (posing as children) and Gold Coast men, Brisbane men, are sending us outrageous pictures and saying shocking things,” Mr Whittington said.
