Spit resort unveiling

-

PLANS for a $15 million “integrated resort” at The Spit will be unveiled today.

Homeland, an Aboriginal Cultural Centre is proposed for the same site as the ASF Consortium’s planned $3 billion resort and would be “eco friendly”.

Backed by charity Child’s Vision, it would feature temporary accommodation which would allow families and school groups to learn about Aboriginal history.

It would be three storeys tall and have 300 carparks.

No permanent residents would be allowed under the project, which would not reclaim any of the Broadwater.

A 20-page submission and site plan was submitted to the State Government this year.
