Frizell cleared of injury

-

NSW coach Laurie Daley has welcomed the news that star forward Tyson Frizell hasn’t suffered a serious rib injury and should be fit for Origin II in Sydney on June 21.

The Blues’ chances of securing a rare Origin series against the Maroons copped a hit on Saturday when Frizell left the field with a rib injury in the second half of St George Illawarra’s win over Wests Tigers.

The forward was taken to hospital for scans after the match to determine the extent of the damage.

Scans yesterday cleared Frizell of serious rib or sternum injuries.

Frizell’s full fitness is also significant for Daley because it will allow him to select the same 17 players who performed so strongly in the Blues’ dominant 28-4 win in Origin I at Suncorp Stadium last week.
