Knife hero puts on a brave face

-

A HERO who was seriously injured after confronting one of the terrorists is being touted for Britain’s highest civilian award for bravery.

Roy Larner, 47, was stabbed in his head, neck, hands and back after trying to fight off the attackers on Saturday night.

The father-of-one put his own life in danger to help others escape the knife-wielding maniacs.

He was initially in intensive care and was last night still receiving treatment at St Thomas’ Hospital in London. Speaking from his hospital bed, Mr Larner was modest, saying: “I just did what I had to do.”

But his friend Archie Webber-Brown has set up a petition calling for him to be given the George Cross, the highest award a civilian can receive for showing extreme courage in the face of adversity.
