New look for an Aussie favourite

-

COMBINING European styling with locally-tuned performance, it’s no surprise the Hyundai i30 range – the versatile hatch, spacious wagon or power-packed SR – has become such an Aussie favourite, says Adam Presley, James Frizelle’s Hyundai brand manager.

“When i30 burst onto the scene in 2007 it was an instant hit, and since then it has been awarded Australia’s best car six times,” he said.

“Designed in Germany, it’s all fluid lines and sporty good looks. The sophisticated and tech-packed interior, with its generous leg and headroom and plenty of cargo space, offers a comfortable and fun-filled ride, while seamlesslyintegrated technologies make driving the i30 easier and safer.

“And under the hood, it’s a top-notch performer. Combining athletic power and handling, and an impressive range of driving technologies, it delivers maximum safety, convenience and comfort – all with a liberal sprinkling of style.”

Mr Presley said the new i30 series II came with Hyundai’s 1.8L Nu powerplant, which featured Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (Dual CVVT) that provided up to 107kW of power, while the i30 series II SR had an exclusive 2.0 GDI petrol engine from Hyundai’s Nu engine family with 20 per cent more power and 19 per cent more torque than the i30’s 1.8 MPI engine.

“The 1.6L diesel engine from Hyundai’s U2 series provides an impressive 260Nm (manual) or 300Nm (DCT) of maximum torque and 100kW power output, which is matched by remarkable fuel efficiency and low emissions,” he said.

“Ultimately, the i30 combines its powerful engines with the most modern advances in manual, automatic and dual clutch transmissions for the most fuel-efficient shift and a new level of driving comfort.

“And of course your safety is our number one priority, which is why every car in the i30 range has achieved the maximum five-star ANCAP safety rating.”
