Gelling Giants shocks coach

THEY may be only win away from a grand final berth, but the Giants didn’t expect things to come together so well in their first season.

Last week’s win over Collingwood set up a clash with the Vixens this weekend, with the victor to face the Lightning in the Super Series finale.

“I’ve got to be honest and say I didn’t (expect to go this well), I thought it’d take a lot longer but particularly things like culture and the feeling within the team, it was instantaneous,” coach Julie Fitzgerald said.
