Hodges up for change

-

QUEENSLAND great Justin Hodges wants Maroons coach Kevin Walters to wield the axe for State of Origin II after calling for the heads of five former high-profile teammates.

The former Broncos captain says fullback Darius Boyd must make way for Billy Slater for June 21’s must-win Game Two in Sydney.

Hodges also called for forwards Nate Myles, Jacob Lillyman and Aidan Guerra plus centre Justin O’Neill to be dropped after the record opening 28-4 loss.

“The nature of the win by New South Wales in the Origin opener last Wednesday showed to me that after serving their state so well for so long there are a number of players who must now make way for the next generation of the Maroons,” Hodges said in his NRL.com column.
