Martin not in trouble with club

GOLD Coast Suns football manager Marcus Ashcroft says young gun Jack Martin is not in trouble with the club after he was assaulted.

Ashcroft said he couldn’t go into the details surrounding Martin’s incident but stressed he had no case to answer.

The 22-year-old was attacked in Broadbeach while out with a couple of teammates and their partners after the weekend’s match against West Coast.

“Our immediate focus with Jack was his welfare,” Ashcroft said.

“He presented yesterday at training fit and ready to prepare for this weekend’s game.

“He had no case to answer. There was no wrong doing on his part.”

A man has been charged in relation to the incident.
