SPIDA SAYS ...

-

On being there: “It’s just making sure you keep doing the right thing. Even when the girls were little, we used to send them a present they could give to their mum on Mother’s Day or at Christmas.”

On wife Sheree: “She’s a machine. She’s just always gogo-go and happy to give me feedback when I need it. We genuinely get along well and work well together.”

On early rises: “Normally it’s 2.45am. Sometimes I’ll be at a function and not get home until midnight and Sheree will say ‘Sleep til four and go in later’ but I’ve learned it’s better to pick that sleep up the next night.”

On being a respite foster

carer: “There's nothing more rewarding. You see them arrive a little bit nervous or disturbed and by the time they leave, you can see the impact you’ve had.”
