Main Roads sells Gaven parcel

-

THE State Government has offloaded an 18ha parcel of land in Gaven for $1.7 million.

A New Zealand investor bought the parcel, lot 906 Castle Hill Drive, from the Department of Main Roads and Transport, which acquired the land for $922,000 in 1999.

CBRE’s Lachlan Harris, who marketed the property with colleague Mason Kidman, said there was stiff competition between buyers.

“The property was hotly contested. It is some of the cheapest land on the northern Gold Coast,” he said.

The property has 260m of frontage to Smith St and Stockland Pacific Pines shopping centre is in proximity.

Commercial uses for the land could include a child care centre, garden centre or tourist attraction, subject to council approval.
