Broncos no shot at GI

-

BRISBANE coach Wayne Bennett has broken his silence on Greg Inglis, insisting the Rabbitoh will not finish his NRL career at the Broncos.

Bennett said he had no interest in signing the Maroons ace – and couldn’t afford him under the salary cap anyway.

Inglis has been linked with a return to the Broncos three times, most recently just last week after he had checked into a mental health facility in his battle with depression.

Inglis’s partner Sally recently visited family in Queensland and with the pair owning a home in Brisbane, it sparked fresh talk the 30-yearold wanted a Broncos start.

“I want to make this clear, we won’t be signing Greg Inglis,” Bennett said. “The speculation is ridiculous.

“Greg is a great player but how on earth would we fit Greg into our salary cap when we have Jack Bird coming (next season) and we’ve signed a player like Anthony Milford.

“We have six Origin players already here and we aren’t paying them chicken feed.”
