Perfect Kombi-nation for a Beetle-maniac
THERE are obviously two things Jesse Barnes gets excited about: beards and old Volkswagens.
And the 25-year-old saw both in spades yesterday at Cooly Rocks On after flying to the event from Cairns.
With VW Kombi vans and Beetles galore including this “rat rod” on show you could see the excitement Mr Barnes’ face as he strolled Marine Pde.
“I’m just here for the cars man, I love the old VWs,” Mr Barnes said.
“I used to live on the coast but I flew down from Cairns for the cars, it’s worth it just for this show.”
“It’s the biggest car show in the country for sure.”
