One Nation pledge to boost cops

-

ONE Nation is promising to boost policing at the troubled Runaway Bay station enabling it to operate around-the-clock.

The party’s policing plan includes a new sister station at Hope Island and water police being based at Paradise Point.

One Nation Broadwater candidate Brenden Ball made the commitments after a Bulletin report revealed almost half of the allocated 24 officers at Runaway Bay are on sick leave or helping other areas.

LNP Broadwater candidate David Crisafulli exposed the shortfall. Mr Ball yesterday took a verbal shot at Mr Crisafulli.

“Runaway Bay police station is over worked and under staffed. This is the recent statement by the LNP as if it was a surprise,” Mr Ball said.

“It may be a surprise to him but not to the rest of us.”
