You don’t have to be a golfing fanatic to want to spend time at this northern Gold Coast golf club’s revamped restaurant

SANCTUARY Cove Golf and Country Club has the perfect compromise for couples who don’t share the same enthusiasm when it comes to the green. Arnie’s Cafe & Bar is the club’s new look and new menu dining destination overlooking Palms Course.

The name is a reprisal of the Arnie’s that existed before Signatures Restaurant and a tribute to legendary golfing great and the club’s first president, Arnold Palmer.

“Mr Palmer has a special place in Sanctuary Cove’s history and in the hearts of many members, so we’re delighted to honour that association through Arnie’s Cafe & Bar,” executive general manager Paul Sanders says.

Catering to diverse breakfast cravings, the menu offers everything from toast, house bircher muesli and acai bowls through to ricotta hot cakes, eggs benedict and old school bubble ‘n’ squeak.

The lunch and snacks selection kicks in from 11am, with highlights such as salmon soft-shell tacos, The Pines burrito bowl, 12-hour-slowcooked pork sliders and American wings, as well as classic lunch fare like Arnie’s Caesar, club sandwich and the Golfers Chicken Palmy.

Taking the humble hamburger above par is the Burger Bar menu with five juicy choices, including a vegetarian option, The Gourmet, featuring roasted field mushroom and grilled haloumi.

An On The Run display cabinet showcases snacks for those on a time crunch. Arnie’s has also introduced dinner each Thursday night, serving options from the lunch and burger menus as well as risotto, beef cheeks with truffle mash, a lamb shank and chef’s curry.

“It’s great to see a broad cross-section of people embracing our wider menu offering and amazing views,” Paul says. “We’re also looking forward to staging more special events and celebrations in our private function space, which caters for up to 120 guests.”
