The well-dressed crowd at The Dome on Saturday were out to have fun but there was also a more serious purpose behind their fundraising event

QUEENSLAND POLICE LEGACY RACE DAY

IN AN ideal world there would be no need for the Queensland Police Legacy Scheme. The men and women of our thin blue line would be able to protect the community without putting their lives on the line. Sadly, as the tragic death of Senior Constable Brett Forte has shown, that is not the case and fundraising events like the annual race day at the GCTC on Saturday are vital. About 430 packed The Dome with officers and supporters all contributing to help the families of deceased police.
