Man hurt by branch

A MAN was hurt after being hit by a falling tree branch at South Stradbroke Island yesterday.

Around 2.05pm paramedics were called to a camping ground where a man had been trapped by the branch.

Gold Coast Acting Senior Operations Supervisor Gavin Fuller said the man was pinned underneath the large branch for about 15 minutes.

“The gentleman was treated for abdominal and pelvic injuries and was given pain relief,” he said. The man was taken to the Princess Alexandra hospital in a stable condition.
