Driver has luck on side

A DRIVER was lucky to walk away after his car spectacularly flipped onto its roof during a multiple car accident at Bilinga yesterday.

The incident happened just after midday on the Gold Coast Highway when up to four cars collided in the southbound lane, with one car rolling onto its roof. The occupant managed to free himself.

Paramedics assessed five patients, with two being transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition. Injuries included lacerations to the head and abrasions.
