HUGE DEMAND FOR MAN CAVES

-

ONE SECTOR Construction boss Nick Ray says awareness of his ‘man cave’ product is growing following $5.66 million in sales at his second project.

Construction of the Mancave Strata Units complex at 25 Industrial Ave, Molendinar, finished in the past few weeks after a six-month build.

The project is a mix of 13 three-level man caves ranging from 195sq m to 331sq m and eight two-level warehouses between 154sq m and 495sq m.

Eight man caves have sold for a median sale price of $329,988 while two warehouses remain following six sales for a combined $2.85 million.

Man cave buyers included men, many downsizing from houses to units in retirement, who wanted space for a garage, hobby space or office.

The warehouses sold to a mix of small business owners and investors.

The sales follow the sellout of the first Mancave Strata Units project at Arundel industrial park last year.

Mr Ray said the success of the first project paved the way for his latest venture.

“At the same stage of the last project we had not sold any units but we are getting recognised for the product now,” he said.

“We’re looking at blocks in Burleigh, Robina and Arundel for a third project.”

Marketing agent Steve Macgregor, of Ray White Industrial Gold Coast, said he is fielding strong inquiry for the remaining units, particularly for the man caves.

The developer is in the process of strata-titling the units and titles are due to be issued in the next month.
