ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN COAST PARKLANDS

- KRISTY MUIR

CHILDREN became curiouser and curiouser when they saw Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter strutting around Southport yesterday.

The pair were out and about as part of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, which transformed the Broadwater Parklands into a wonderland of fun activities for kids.

One of the littlies who went down the rabbit hole was Maya Skelly.

The five-year-old listened to “a different spin” on Alice in Wonderland that had adults in stitches and the kids oblivious as to why their parents were laughing.

“She loved it,” Mum Celeste told the Bulletin.

“There were a lot of families at the event ... it was a good free activity. They did some jokes and tongue twisters.

“Amaya’s favourite part was decorating massive cookies the size of a bread and butter plate.”
