A WHEELIE-GOOD time was had by hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts at the inaugural Motosocial Show ‘n’ Shine – so much so it will become a biannual event.

People travelled from as far as Coffs Harbour and the Sunshine Coast to attend the event which saw more than 60 bikes showcased at Sandbar, Surfers Paradise yesterday.

The group made quite an impression along the Coast as they rode in convoy from Currumbin to the venue.

Cafe racers, scramblers and bobbers, including a 1992 Honda CB750 RC42 and a 1981 Suzuki GS550, were among the classic bikes on show.

Organisers were thrilled with the turnout, having to sadly turn bikes and people away due to overcrowding.

“Our venue can hold 400 people and they were crammed in like sardines,” Sandbar owner Jake Short said.

“We’re beyond stoked ... we expected 15-20 bikes.

“We were full by 10am and it (the event) didn’t start till 12.

“It was a family friendly event. We are going to run it every six months.”
