STREET TALK

WHAT INFRASTRUCTURE WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE COUNCIL SPENDING MONEY ON NEXT YEAR? Jaymie Marshall, 37, Mackay: Make the tram go further, to Coolangatta Airport. And I think they need more direct flights from other places. Greg Mayhew, 78, Kempsey: We know the area pretty well, but I think the place is going pretty well. But signs are a good idea. Lorraine Mayhew, 75, Kempsey: We find it difficult, we do a lot of walking but couldn’t see any signs to say where you are, like: ‘you’re approaching Broadbeach’. Reza Shahgaldi, 45, Broadbeach Waters: The population is growing faster than the infrastructure. They could improve with more organised and increased public transport. PRATTEN PARK, BROADBEACH, 1.30PM, 17/6/17 Nini Clarist, 21, Carrara: Another shopping centre, the only shopping malls that are nice are Pacific Fair, Robina and Harbour Town. And more buses and they should put restaurants on the beach. Alaa Kharif, 21, Southport: Council are doing good work, it’s clean so people can enjoy their time here. They can extend the tram line.
